Hi, I’m Torres.

Baguette is one of the most difficult breads to make and ongoing practice is a must for beginners like me.
My oven is a small one which can’t handle the usual length of 65 cm, so I am going to make a short Baguette instead.
I love fig, especially those dried figs. They are delicious and rich in dietary fibre.
Back in the good old days when I was young, I like eating Fig Rolls – a sweet biscuit filled with fig paste in the middle.
To fill my dream of eating fig, I decided to bake a fig bread today.
When looking for ways to get ride of one’s fats and reclaim the once slim body figure, people usually consider having some vigorous exercise like running, swimming, going to gym plus taking up one of those energy conscious diets.
In fact, fat burning does not necessary required vigorous exercise. Cycling for longer distance at a suitable intensity can also help to get the same result.
Sunday morning, 17 June 2018.
My boy wanted to make some bread on his own. He was thinking about bread representing various simple geometric shapes and asked for two shapes from his mom and me.
Today is 10 June 2018, Sunday and with highest temperature over 35ºC. What a hot and sunny day!
After a week of heavy rain and tropical typhoon, its time for outdoor activities again.
With two of my cycling buddies, we went on a ride to Ngau Tam Mei near Yuen Long.
The 23rd of March of the Lunar Calendar is the birthday of Tin Hau (or Mazu in Taiwan). According to informal historical recording, she was born in China around the 10th century and was later became the Goddess of the Sea.
This year, the Tin Hau birthday (or Tin Hau Festival) was on 8 May 2018. There are various celebration activities held by local communities in Yuen Long, Tuen Mun and several traditional fishing villages.
On last Saturday, my family and I visited Sai Kung, an old fishing village in Hong Kong, and had a glimpse into one of the local celebration events.
While writing my last post on Red Wine and Dried-Fruit Bread, I have talked about Wu Pao-Chun and his Fermented Glutinous Rice and Dried Longan Bread. Someone who closely related to Wu Pao-Chun is Chen Fu Guang (陳撫洸) – the legendary bread master who is the mentor of Wu Pao-Chun and the one who lead him to explore the wonderful world of tastes.
I have come across his book “堂本麵包店 小巷𥚃的味蕾奇蹟” (ISBN 978-986-93284-4-9) and would like to learn from the master by following some of the recipes and tips shared by him.
Tired of running your bike training and virtual cycling system on your smartphone, tablet with tiny screens?
Constrained by the limited connectivity options and/or processing power of those smart devices?
If yes, how about using your good old desktop platform or notebook to drive the bike trainer and connect to virtual cycling systems like Zwift or Golden Cheetah?
